Thursday was Bike Day. I had never really rode a bike before then, so I had a lot of trouble.

Our first stop was the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. They had this really cool garden with a pond. When the pond overflows the water does not go to a storm drain immedietaly. There is a little basin with benches and the ground is dirt and the water can get absorbed there. Then it goes to a dirt canal where it waters the plants along it and after about 50ft of this it reaches the storm drain. They say it has to be a really big strom to get all the way to the storm drain.

Our next stop was Brooklyn Pizza Company and Sky Bar. They run off of solar panels. They told us about solar energy and then showed us the inverters.

Next, we went to this guy's house. He is super ecofriendly. He had a composting toilet; he doesn't use air conditioning, and the only thing that runs off of city water is his outdoor shower, everything else runs off rainwater. Here we are in his shower.

Then we went to BICAS, a bike repair shop. They make new bikes out of old ones and have a million parts so people can fix their bikes. They teach classes on how to fix or build a bike. It was super cool.

At the end of the day, we went to Santa Cruz Farmers Market, where we bought some produce. I won the award for the most resilient person because I fell, hurt myself and got back up and didn't care that I just hurt my leg so I was limping. It was a great day
