The eighth day was Bus Day. We had a couple of challenges each group had to complete. We had only the bus routes and our own two feet to get us around. This became a problem when we found out you could not buy day passes on the buses, only at transit stations. Since there is one across from our first stop,Tucson Mall, we figured we would get them there. When we got to the transit station no one was working and the machines were out of day passes. Amy went to a Fry's close by to find out the machine there had also run out of day passes so when she finally found a Fry's that had them she had to run to make the next bus or she would have to wait 30 minutes. Luckly she made the bus and got back about 1 hour later.

At the Tucson Mall each group got assigned a certain area and we had to find the least ecofriendly and the most ecofriendly items in that area. We also had to find something each of us wanted at the mall.

Our most ecofriendly item was a Saguaro cactus made out of recycled glass and put together in Tucson. Our least ecofriendly item was a lotion that has flowers on the front.

Our next challenge was to eat a waste-free lunch. My group wanted burgers so we went to IN-N-OUT Burgers. They were more than willing to just give us our food on a tray without any wrapers. One person in my group got some lemonade but he put it in his water bottle. We ate totally waste-free. The other two groups went to Sweet Tomatoes Salad Bar but they still ended up with a lot of waste.

Our next challenge was to go to the thrift store and find the same thing or something close to it that we found at the mall. At the mall I found a pair of plastic earings for $11 and at the thrift store I found a pair of sterling silver earings for $8.

Since my group had so much extra money because we ate at IN-N-OUT Burger we were able to get ice cream. At the end of the day we had a green fashion show. It was so much fun!
